About Mayberry's Milk & Honey Collection

It's All About The Bees

Food Security

Depends On Honey Bee Health

A few years ago, we invested in a few honey bee hives on the farm to help pollinate the strawberry plants.

Our honey bees are the hardest workers on our farm. Without them, our strawberry plants would not yield as well.

Raw Means Real

Most honey has been pasteurized or heated to a high degree which kills all the good stuff. We lightly filter any wax, dead bees or debris before bottling.

Better Bees Make Better Honey

Honeybee health is our number one priority. We use an all natural and pro-active approach to beekeeping which means no pesticides are used when treating veroa mites.

Ingredient Benefits

Raw Honey:

Its antibacterial nature makes it a strong ally when fighting wounds and other skin afflictions that just won't heal. It can be used directly, or infused with herbs, oils and added to skincare products. Taken internally, it may help seasonal allergies, ulcers and a host of other minor ailments. When used in soap it helps boost lather naturally.

Beeswax:

Produced by honeybees and rendered here at the farm. It helps thicken creams and hold salves and lotion bars together. It has beneficial skin-softening properties and helps your skin retain moisture.

Goat Milk:

Is amazing for your skin! It is full of lactic acid which can naturally improve skin cell turnover, leaving you with softer, more luxurious skin.

Essential Oils:

strong, concentrated extracts distilled from flowers, herbs and other plants. It takes a massive amount of plant material to produce just a tiny bit of essential oil. Because of this high cost in plant life, essential oils can be quite expensive. Essential oils are used for fragrance or to complement a product's effect.

Unrefined Shea butter:

High concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins makes shea butter ideal for softening and moisturizing the skin. Shea butter also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Using shea butter on your body can condition, tone, and soothe your skin.

Castor Oil:

Lends a glossy shine to lip balms, protects skin and has mild antifungal properties. It's low comedogenic status means it's unlikely to clog pores. When used in soap it helps boost lather.

Cocoa Butter:

Works to naturally soothe dry, sensitive skin while reducing and preventing the appearance of scars and unwanted marks.

Coconut Oil:

Hydrates skin and helps to improve elasticity and collagen production. Coconut oil is also known for its anti-aging properties and has anti-oxidants such as Vitamin E and Vitamin A, which help to slow down the aging process and may help to reduce the damage from free radicals and the sun.

Sweet Almond Oil:

Contains Vitamin E to aid in keeping your skin cells healthy. Also protects your skin from UV radiation damage, and helps your skin look smooth, soft, and free of fine lines. The fatty acids help your skin retain moisture and can heal chapped and irritated skin.

Sunflower Oil:

High in lecithin and vitamins A, D and E. Sunflower is one of the best oils for applying to broken, damaged or aging skin.
